Stefan Wermelin

Swedish music producer and host of Swedish Radio, born September 1, 1946. His program Wermelin is broadcast on Swedish Radio P4 on Sundays 22.05-23.00. He has received the Swedish Radio Language Prize 1998, the Grand Radio Prize 2001 and the Grammys 2001 and 2003 for his work with music on the radio. Together with Staffan Schöier, Wermelin has made several radio series about Swedish music and entertainment history. Their collaboration began with the program series Life is a Party in 1999, about Swedish pop and rock music from the 1960s onwards, and continued in 2001 with the series A Schlager in Sweden, about older popular music. In the summers of 2002 and 2003, they made the radio series The Svenska Ord Story about Hans Alfredson and Tage Danielsson, which subsequently resulted in the book Svenska Ord & Co, for which they received STIM's writer's scholarship in 2006. During 2007-2008, an even more historically oriented radio series is broadcast, Swedish Entertainment, which deals with Sweden's entertainment history throughout the 20th century.
