American label owner, producer, songwriter, radio DJ, singer, and vice president of the Jewel Records (3) & Paula Records label complex. He owned the production company Don Logan Productions, the publishing company Cabriolet Music/Cabriolet, Cord Record Corporation, and the CAL and Memorial gospel record labels. Logan was born in California, and grew up mostly in Poteau, Oklahoma, but his family followed construction work, and lived in Minnesota, Arkansas, Georgia, and West Virginia. Logan was interested in music very early on, and started his radio DJ career in the late 1950s performing on radio in Georgia, and working for WMON (Montgomery, Arkansas), KWHN and KTCS (both in Fort Smith, Arkansas), where got his first taste of DJ stardom. Logan spent some time at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma as a music major and was in the choir, college band, dance band, and was also active in the daily college radio program. He left college at midterm, and found work in Weatherford, Texas at KZEE. He was the news director and mid-day DJ. Next, he was offered a DJ/singer gig at KCUL in Fort Worth, Texas. Logan worked the Fort Worth and Dallas area for some time. From Texas Logan headed to Shreveport, Louisiana, after Gordon McLendon offered him a job, and sent him to the McLendon station there. Logan became the program director at KEEL. Eventually he took off for the record business, becoming a vice president of the Jewel Records (3) & Paula Records complex in 1967. Over the next 10 years he directed, produced, wrote songs, and signed artists. After he departed from Jewel-Paula Records, he tried a comeback in local radio, without a success. Throughout the eighties he had many stints with local radio stations and as program director for KCOZ. In the 2000s, he released three albums on CD.
