Chamber choir "Old Russian Cantus" (камерный хор «Древнерусский распев») was founded by Anatoly Grindenko in 1983 at the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius monastery. Two years later, he re-organized the choir with a new permanent cast as a Moscow Patriarchy Press Choir = Мужской хор Издательского отдела Московской патриархии. It specializes is znamenny chant and other historic and little-known traditions of liturgical singing. They became laureates of many international competitions and festivals, received an order of Russian-Palestinian Society in 1991, and have been regularly performing at such major events, as Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music at London, Osterklang at Vienna, and other festivals in France, Spain, and Japan. The choir recorded a few albums at the French label Opus 111. Some of their recordings had received an award from Diapason Hi-Fi magazine.
