Brazilian singer and composer (December 10, 1952 – June 12, 2021). Influenced since 1960s by Laboratório de Sons Estranhos (LSE, with tropicalist inspiration) and by the intellectual Jomard Muniz de Brito, Flavio was part of the psychedelic scene in Recife, Pernambuco. With Robertinho from Recife, was part of the band for the show Arame Barbado no Continente Perdido. In 1972, together with the group Coluna 33, performed at the Experimental Music Fair of Nova Jerusalem. In 1974, with Fagner, Alceu Valença, Geraldo Azevedo, Robertinho do Recife, Ricardo Bezerra and Ave Sangria, Flaviola performed the show Os 7 Cantos do Norte. He became acquainted with foreign artists through singles presented by Arto Lindsay, whose family lived in the city. In 1975 he released the cult album Flaviola E O bando do Sol, with songs composed with Lula Cortes, adaptations by Garcia Lorca, Shakespeare and Mayakovsky, and the participation of Paulo Raphael, Robertinho de Recife and Zé da Flauta. In 1977, in São Paulo, he conceived with with the director Jorge Takla and the painter and performer José Roberto Aguilar the multimedia show Circo Antropofágico Ambulante Cósmico e Latino-Americano Apresenta Esta Noite: A Transformação Permanente do Tabu em Totem. He settled in Rio de Janeiro, composing in partnership with artists such as Zé Ramalho; was recorded by artists such as Frenéticas, and worked with artists such as Elza Soares. In 1989, he formed the band Braz. In 2015, after 25 years without going to Recife, reconnected with the local scene, which led to the release of the new album Ex-Tudo, in 2020. He died on June 12, 2021, of Covid-19.
