Arturo Castro

Mexican musician, arranger, vocalist, songwriter. He was born in Puerto México, today Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, on December 12, the son of Don Javier Pluvio Castro and Mrs. Carmen Muñoz.Arturo Castro, with an innate talent for music, began his training self-taught. His father taught him to play guitar, and on the piano, from the age of six, he already played everything by ear, reinforced by some classes that his grandmother urged him to take at an academy in the city of Puebla. When he was 10 years old, together with his brothers Jorge and Javier, he formed the Los Panchitos trio, named for their ability to sing and play guitars just like the famous Los Panchos trio, a style that even adults couldn't imitate. Arturo played the requinto and directed his brothers, just 7 and 9 years old. In the sixties Arturo gave life to the musical concept Los Hermanos Castro, which was joined by his cousin Gualberto, to form an avant-garde ensemble that set the tone for the extraordinary harmonization of voices and masterful musical arrangements.
