Saxophone Limb was an American short-lived experimental/free improv outfit formed in the mid-to-late 1990s by C. Spencer Yeh and Andrew Choate on saxophone. The group released a limited edition tape in 1998, which became the second release on Yeh's newly-launched DroneDisco label. The cassette documented two June '97 live sessions recorded in Evanston, Illinois, featuring LA-based electric guitarist Peter Kolovos with a tape recorder and a couple of guest participants. Spencer Yeh and Peter Kolovos continued working together, and another limited edition tape Complex Basement soon followed at DroneDisco, where two artists appeared as KY Duo (the project's name formed by the first letters in their initials). In 1999, Yeh's label released Live 1997 3xCD-R set, this time credited to CKY Trio (with "C" added for Andrew Choate on tenor saxophone). The collection featured complete practice tapes recorded in Evanston. Kolovos also released several albums by one of Spencer's oldest bands, Burning Star Core, on his label Thin Wrist Recordings. He often recorded BxC live sessions, occasionally photographing the events and assisting with artwork designs. In May 2010, Peter and Spencer co-produced a 2xLP edition of Kevin Drumm's eponymous solo album, originally released on CD in 1997 and reissued on vinyl by Thin Wrist.
