Jesse Camp, (born November 4, 1980) is the winner of the first Wanna Be a VJ contest on MTV beating over 5000 other contestants including Dave Holmes for a VJ job on the network. During his year and a half on MTV, Camp was a co host of music video show Total Request Live (TRL), and also hosted the summer series Lunch With Jesse, as well as MTV Rocks Off. Although the original contest rules were to let the winner be a VJ for a period of two weeks, Camp became so popular on the channel that the network immediately extended his contract for a full year. Jesse was voted one of VH1,s Twenty Greatest MTV Moments in 2010. Jesse Camp also has had many bands over the years, starting with bands in high school. Bands include: Society Today, Easy Action, Jesse Camp and the High Flying, No Denying, Satisfying, Rock N Rolling, Movers, Shakers, And Hit Makers, Jesse And The 8th Street Kidz, and most recently, Green Denim. Jesse Camp And the 8th Street Kidz started in 1998 following a record deal with Hollywood records in August of that year. The album was later released on May 25, 1999. The band toured extensively throughout 1999 opening up for bands such as NSYNC, Alice Cooper, and many other bands. They were later dropped in December 1999 due to low album sales. He has also co written music for bands such as Bubble, Antiproduct, and many others. Jesse currently has a web series that him and sister Marisha Camp have been working on since 2015 called "Born To Rock And Roll" that is due for release at a unknown date.
