Mexican saxophonist Diego Maroto began taking private lessons with Larry Roussell (EU) and Alfonso Martínez (Mexico) in 1985. In 1988 he began a master's degree at the Escuela Superior de Música (INBA), where he was instructed in improvisation, arrangements and composition by Francisco Téllez. He then continued with private lessons by Danny Matusack (New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Mass.) And Darryl Winsman (LA)
