Alan Abel

Best known as a public/media hoaxter and novelty songwriter, Alan Abel was also a jazz drummer. An award-winning drummer through high school, he was drafted into the army in WWII where he was assigned to play with Glen Miller's Army Airforce Band. As a student, he founded the Jazz Forum at Ohio State University. He later toured a one-man comedic drum history show as Professor Paradiddle. Not to be confused with the British recording engineer Alan Abel (2).
