Raymond A. Browne

American songwriter, publisher, theatrical manager and vaudeville performer. Born December 17 1871, New York. Died May 9, 1922, Wakefield, Rhode Island. At the turn of the 20th century, Browne and his publisher Sol Bloom were awarded, to much fanfare, the first musical copyright of the new century for "I Wish I Was in Dixie Land Tonight".
