Houndog

Houndog is the duo of Mike Halby, who has played with Canned Heat and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, and David Hidalgo, of Los Lobos. Their basic lo-fi production and all-original gutbucket songs have a feel of vintage downhome blues. The arrangements are sparse drums and sleepy, smoky guitar and bass licks, with touches of violin, accordion, and lap steel to make the textures deeper.
