Luiz Carlos "Chuim" De Siqueira

Professional drummer, percussionist, teacher, composer and author. Born in Jacarei SP Brasil 03/03/1947 In Brasil he performed and recorded with many dance groups from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. He also played with Lenny Andrade, Johnny Alf, The Platters, Orquestra Ed Maciel and Orquesta Tabajara. In Paris (1975), Chuim worked with a brazilian singer and pianist Tânia Maria, also at Via Brasil, and Le Bilboquet and Manfred Fest in USA. From there he went to Copenhage (Denmark) with a new brazilian group called Boa Nova and there he stayed until 1983. In Danmark he performed with some of the finest musicians and groups like: Christian Sievert, Mads Vinding, Johnny Dyanni & Witchdoctor's Son, Torben Kjaer Jazz Quintet, Danish Radio Jazz Group, Ariel, Mehmet Ozan & Istambul Express, Dr.L. Subramanian, Den Dansk Teatre and many others. As a teacher he worked during three years at Den Lile Skole, and also gave many Workshops, and Courses at: Kolding hojskole, Musik Fabriken Fair Play, Aahus Universitet. From 1988/93 he work at Unicamp/Brasil and was a residency teacher at Iowa State University and Grinnell College in USA. He was also teacher at St. Paul's School in São Paulo 1995/2000. And since 2003 he is been working as teacher at St. Francis College in São Paulo. Fundação Cultural de Jacareí and developing his own project "Chuim Samba Jazz Band".
