After Athenian post punk band "Psychomafia” split up in 1984, singer/guitarist Yannis Drenoyannis, and bassist Tolis Maragos were joined by singer Nancy, and drummer Aris Labridis (formerly of Γενιά Του Χάους), and formed The Anti Troppau Council. Very soon, Nancy and Labridis were replaced by singer Vasilis Tzavaras and drummer Takis Kanellos. The band played many gigs in the Exarchia live clubs “Pigasos” and “Point”, but a track from a performance at Kyttaro Club on the Feb 1985 was released in the compilation tape “Live at Kyttaro” later in 1985. The same year, the band participated in the Di Di Music compilation “Outsiders” with 2 songs. On 22 & 23/10/1984 they performed live at Hima Club (Athens) along with 'Femmes Fatales' & 'Moist Device'. On 28/9/1985 they performed live at Θέατρο Πολύτεχνο (Athens), along with 'Villa 21', 'Magic De Spell', 'Venericna Bolest' & 'Nine Lives'. Pegasus Records (4) (same owners of the above mentioned club) released ATC's debut album “A Way Out” in 1986. The track “I Believe” pays tribute to Roky Erickson, and last track “When the Saints Go” was a punk cover of the gospel hymn “When the Saints Go Marching In”. On 5/6/1986 they performed live in Halkida along Venericna Bolest & Brush. On 21/6/1986 they performed live at Θέατρο Δάσους (Thessaloniki), along with Villa 21, Noise Promotion Company, The Mushrooms (3), Last Drive & Dark Bay. Maragos was then replaced by Yerasimos Gatzelias on bass. In 1987 the new line-up participated in Pegasus' compilation “Cicadas” with 2 tracks. The band had completed tracks for a second album, but tensions led Drenoyannis to leave the band before they entered the studio. Kanellos went on to play with Mode Plagal, and Drenoyannis formed Yeah! (4). Tzavaras and Maragos were joined by Kostas Anagnostopoulos and Νίκος Κασσαβέτης and formed the short-lived band "Angeldrops".
