As a native to Kent, Kristofer began his education as a songwriter and producer alongside the local emerging musical talent - writing and playing in his own band Story Books, as well as contributing to various other acts. This eventually led to Kristofer touring and collaborating with artists such as Laura Marling, Smoke Fairies and California-based Sea Of Bees, before relocating to London and turning his focus onto production. During these formative years, he came to recognise two cornerstones forming in his approach to making records; the cultivation of close relationships with bands and artists, and a direct and instinctive style he was beginning to make his own. The past year has seen Kristofer experience a coming-of-age as an adaptable record producer. Over an intensely active twelve months, projects have included: producing, engineering and mixing Smoke Fairies' critically-acclaimed self-titled third album (Full Time Hobby Records), co-producing and mixing the debut Matthew and The Atlas album 'Other Rivers' for Communion Records, and working closely with breakthrough act Bear's Den - producing tracks for their debut album and producing and mixing EP 'Agape' (Communion Records/Universal Caroline). Between venturing stateside to produce the forthcoming album for hotly-tipped NYC act Silverbird, producing a debut EP for electronica duo Deafkid (Tape Club Records) and co-producing the self-titled debut EP from Annie Eve (Sony/Young & Lost Club Records), Kristofer has also remained active with Story Books, while they toured two self-produced EP's (Communion Records). Kristofer shares a Pro Tools equipped tracking and mixing studio just outside of London which boasts vintage microphones, classic instruments and a well-stocked mini-bar in versatile and comfortable rooms, surrounded by the green of the Kent countryside.
