Jacques Rautenbach (originally a drummer and percussionist) has been steadily infiltrating the Instrumental / Light Classical Music Market. It’s been many years since he released his debut album Shades of Blue, but fast forward six years and he’s composed, recorded and released 8 Full Albums, 3 EP’s and 9 Singles, with collaborations with some of the worlds finest musicians. The last six years was spent on his own music, but don’t be fooled… Jacques has been a professional musician for the past 28 years, not as a Classical pianist, Artist or Composer, but as studio drummer to some of the most well known Afrikaans singers in South Africa. Some of these artist include Bok van Blerk, Lianie May, Eden, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Steve Hofmeyr, Eden, Ddisselbom, Ray Dylan, Ricus Nel, Gerhard Steyn, Appel, Pieter Koen & Kurt Darren) These represent more than 10 Gold and Platinum selling albums. For many years Jacques performed live with artists like Coenie de Villiers, Nataniel, Anna Davel & Dewald Gouws on various stages and Festivals from Aardklop to KKNK, Mighty Men to InniBos and everything in between…. Some other career highlights include performing with the legendary Cindy Alter (from the sensational 80’s band Clout) Recording a track with American Saxophonist Dave Koz and the Coenie de Villers recording with late Hugh Masekela on trumpet. “I think this is the reason why my music is so rich and diverse, my musical experience has been vast. “I’ve produced Ghoema nominated albums, played so many different genres and carried gear to small clubs for R100 gigs. Netherlands, Romania, Australia & Ireland) and in South Africa on various stations including Fine Music Radio (FMR), Classic Fm, RSG and even Pretoria FM.
