Born: Chicago, IL, 19 July 1949. Married to Connie M Tillman Mainly jazz & R&B keyboardist, percussionist, vocalist & composer. Active from 1972 to 2002. Variously referred to as Eric Tillman or David (Eric) Tillman. Tillman studied at the American Conservatory of Music. In the fall of 1967 he started at Loop College in Chicago, majoring in Music Theory and Composition. Then David entered the U.S. Air Force from May 1968 to May 1972. He played in jazz and R&B bands while in the Air Force. After the Air Force, Tillman went back to Chicago (May '72 - Mar '77) where he played piano with local bands, varying from Latin and Jazz to R&B. David attended the Chicago State University Studied to study jazz improvisation with Bunky Green. In March 1977 he got a gig with The Temptations and moved to California. After three years on the road, Tillman settled in Los Angeles (Mar '77 - Feb '02). He studied record production with Glenn Ballard at UCLA extension. In addition to working as a musical leader in jazz, blues and pop, David started working since December 1992 as pianist for Linda Hopkins. In February 2001, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and worked with vocalist Lise Wilson. In November 2001 Tillman moved to Sacramento and currently is a musician at Murph-Emmanuel AME Church. Un-issued recordings: Unreleased studio recordings with: The Temptations, Gap Band, and others at various studios. Unreleased live recording with Linda Hopkins at the Jazz Festival in Bologna, Italy, 2001.
