Aleksandar Raković

Aleksandar Raković (Belgrade, Serbia, 1972) received B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in history at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. On January 18, 2011 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Rock and Roll in Yugoslavia 1956-1968. A Challenge to a Socialist Society", at the Department of History (History of Yugoslavia). His doctoral dissertation was published as a book "Rock and Roll in Yugoslavia 1956-1968. A Challenge to a Socialist Society" (Belgrade: Arhipelag, 2011). The 10th International Herceg Novi Book Fair in Montenegro (2012) awarded "Rock and Roll in Yugoslavia 1956-1968. A Challenge to a Socialist Society" with Book of the Year Award. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Recent History of Serbia in Belgrade. In 1990 he was a vocalist of Overdose, a Serbian HC punk/crossover band from Belgrade.
