The Outcry

Garage band from Michigan, active in the mid-sixties. They won the local battle of the bands competition, then 1st in State (Michigan) then placed 3rd in the national competition in Atlantic City, New Jersey, playing all original songs. Dale Hurt wrote the A side of the single, but because of his young age, the credit on the record went to the studio owner. Diamond Jim had told him he was too young to get royalties and that he would take care of it. Also, the flip, also Dale's idea and written by Roger Romeo, was supposed to be titled "Epileptic Fruitcake" but Jim thought it may be offensive. The local record deal got them on a local TV show twice, Robin Seymour's Swinging Time.
