Miguel Pous

He was a Mexican pianist and Mexican composer. Born: November 23, 1929, Veracruz, Mexico. Died: April 1, 1983, Mexico City, Mexico. He studied piano with Francisco Agea and José Luis Cházaro. He played in various theaters and nightclubs in Mexico City. In 1946 he worked as a pianist in the Salón Champagne at the Reforma Hotel; At that time he wrote his first songs, which were successfully broadcast through XEW and XEX. His first two songs were En Mi Soledad and Somos Iguales, recorded by “Toña la Negra”. Later songs, which better represent his production, are Alguien como tú, Canción viajera, Hoy no te vi, Hoy que me faltas tú, Más que amor, Mi amor por ti y Tus lágrimas. He also composed music for movies. In 1967 he formed an orchestra to perform concert music.
