Daniel Chavez

Daniel Chavez grew up in Los Angeles listening to jazz and hip-hop, and was involved in dancing, breakdance, and footwork. Without classical training, his father instilled in him knowledge of the guitar and musical theory. From there Daniel went his own way, obtaining more electronic music experience, and interacting with other musicians. In the early-'90s, he immersed himself in techno, house, acid jazz, trance, jungle, bass & rave culture. He performed actively at underground events and clubs throughout California and in 11 countries. He was the original DJ and co-founder of Moontribe, well-known for Southern California desert full-moon gatherings. He founded Automat Records in 1997, and managed it until 2009. In the process, produced his own vinyl and digital releases, with over 30+ releases. After 2009, he took a break from music production and presentation to devote himself to reabsorbing knowledge of the musical underground. In 2014, he started producing mixes & tracks with his ex-wife/partner Mondaine. In autumn of 2015, they began the imprint Fusion, to feature their love for Footwork, Juke, Jungle, 160 House & Bass music. And in the autumn 2016 expanded with Fusion Digital Infiniti until 2020-2021. He is now working on his Digital Complex and Digital Complexity Imprints and is always searching for new platforms, and reinventing his sounds.
