Jazz and rhythm & blues singer and trumpet player, born in Oklahoma in 1918. Played in territory bands in the late 1930s-early 1940s, then played and sang with Jay McShann 1942-1944 and Cootie Williams 1945-1949, followed by vocal recordings under his own name. Last heard of in the early 1960s.
