William Butler (3)

British-Canadian musician, singer, composer, sound designer, record producer and recording engineer. Also credited as Billy Butler. Joined Gullivers People in 1965, he left them in 1969 and joined Eternal Triangle. While recording at Abbey Road Studios with Norman Smith, he became more interested in the engineering and production side. In 1973 he emigrated from England to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to teach sound production at Capilano University. He was also active in recording and producing in Saskatoon and did location recording across Canada. Later moved into sound design and composing for TV and film, winning an Emmy and 2 Juno Awards. Born December 18, 1940 in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.
