Ophiucus

Об исполнителе:
French Psychedelic / Folk group created during a musicians' meeting organized by Emmanuel Booz in summer of 1971, which included brothers Alain Labacci and Bernard Labacci (on guitar and drums respectively), bassist Jean-Pierre Pouret (aka Chinois) and Zoo (4)'s founding member Michel Bonnecarrère, also on guitars and vocals. They rehearsed in Michel's house in the town of Flagy (Seine-et-Marne). Eventually, Barclay released their debut LP in the summer of 1972. After a 2nd LP in 1973, it seems they disbanded. Ophiucus' name is derived from a large constellation located around the celestial equator formerly known as Serpentarius. Barclay's Léo Missir "proposed that we adopt the name of Ophiucus after he had read an article in Le Nouvel Observateur in which professor Muller, head of Meudon's observatory, had written that "if astrologers were serious people, they should take into account the astral sign of Ophiucus, because the Sun has been travelling in this constellation for more than thirty years". In fact, we met professor Muller at his office and he gave us free access to his library. It was there that we found a 16th century painting of Ophiucus: a man wearing a long dress, upon which a serpentine sign was drawn".
