September, 1996, Carlos Porto went to a college party. A film by Anderson Tilly was being exhibited in which Ian Curtis was quoted, what drew Carlos’ attention. From this friendship introduced by Joy Division’s singer came several projects, among them, The Silent Party. The duo recorded the first song "An instant of difference" in December, 2005, and in early 2006 released their first demo CD, "Quod Erat Demonstrandum", attracting the attention of Eduardo Leite and Sandro Gavião, who joined the band. The artistic production continued with releases through the Internet. In 2007, Luciano Silva joined the group to play bass on their first CD, "I guess you wouldn’t feel shocked", released in April, 2008, by the German indie label Plastic Frog Records. In early 2009 The Silent Party took part on the brazilian bands' tribute compilation to T.S.O.L, covering the song "Send my thoughts". Now the band have a new EP available, "Inanimate EP", released by the brazilian label 80's Records and a new song, "Never Shown", featured on the brazilian rock bands compilation "ABC do Som" that will be released soon. Their influences ranging from bands like Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, Morrissey, Bauhaus, The Cure, Echo and The Bunnymen and others some great artists...
