Peter Clayton

British BBC radio host, author, and jazz critic. From 1956 to 1960 worked in the publicity department of The Decca Record Company Limited. After leaving Decca he worked as a freelance writer and editor working at journals such as National Jazz Federation and Jazz News. In the mid-1960s he started hosting BBC radio jazz programmes. Co-authored many books with Peter Gammond, whom he met while working at Decca. Born June 25, 1927 in Sydenham, London, England. Died August 10, 1991 in Sydenham, London, England.
