Walter Roy Mays

Rhythm & blues trumpet player and band leader, based in Atlanta, Georgia. He recorded two titles with his orchestra for Gerald in c. 1950, and also accompanied singers such as Clay Braddy, Nat Foster, and Billy Wright on recordings made in Atlanta during the first half of the 1950s. Nicknamed "Willie". Brother of Zilla Mays.
