Cieplarnia

Cieplarnia (Hothouse) is a project that came about from a love of the musical phenomenon known as "New Wave" or "Cold Wave". The purpose of the project is to revive the New Wave sound by using classic harmonies and emotional expression characteristic of this 80's genre. The group debuted their first single "Do wtóru bez końca" on the compilation "Minimax.pl Vol. 5", which is put together by the renowned Polish radio presenter, Piotr Kaczkowski. "Przebudzony" ("Awakened") is a diverse, yet coherent album that is devoid of the typical monotony associated with New Wave music. The musicians employed musical techniques such as equipment and guitar effects distinctive to the 80's new/cold wave scene, although some tracks do have modern sounds. Second Cieplarnia album entitled "Pętla" ("Loop") was released on September 24th and is bringing the same atmosphere, although more diverse.The tracks on "Pętla" have lyrics that deal with a variety of subjects such as relationships and emotions, such as dependency and the desire to dominate. There are also political references that deal with the complex mechanism of gaining power and the desire to hold on to it at all costs. The album is sure to please New and Cold Wave fans, as well as those who expect something more from their music besides simple, carefree entertainment.
