Petri Hissa

(1970-2020) Born in Pori, Finland. Never returned from a trip to Laos. Drummer and teacher, effortlessly navigating between rock, jazz, fusion and free improvisation. He moved to Helsinki in the 90's, studied at Oulunkylä conservatory, and played hundreds, if not thousands of gigs, covering venues from legendary hardcore clubs like Vastavirta to concert halls in different bands. His work with Betonisiltojen Alle and Kroko is highly regarded among musicians, although eluding the mainstream's attention.
