Shannon Wettstein (now Sadler) is an American pianist, chamber musician and educator. She works at the since 2015, and before that she was on the faculty of Augsburg College and Bemidji State University. Sadler is a founding member of Boston's Auros Group for New Music and formerly a pianist with the contemporary music ensemble Zeitgeist. Also, she plays in the Calliope duo with flutist Elizabeth McNutt. The artist has collaborated with many famous composers, including Brian Ferneyhough, Chinary Ung, Roger Reynolds, Jeffrey Mumford, Frederic Rzewski, and Martin Bresnick. Wettstein-Sadler has premiered countless works through the United States and internationally, including performances at New York's Lincoln Center, Gardner Museum at Boston, Walker Art Center, and the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado. As a guest faculty member of New England Conservatory's Summer Institute for Contemporary Piano Performance, Shannon gave the first U.S. performance of Iannis Xenakis' Komboi for amplified harpsichord and percussion. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree with highest distinction from the University of Kansas, Master of Music with honors from New England Conservatory Of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of California, San Diego. Wettstein's teachers have included Aleck Karis, Stephen Drury, Sequeira Costa, and Claude Frank.
