Richard L. Lopez was a member of the ‘83 Denver C.E.C. Jazz Combo and Colorado All-State Jazz Ensemble. Studied under Frank Gagliardi and Prof. Bobby Scann at UNLV. Performed Las Vegas with Joe Williams, Carl Fontana, Chuck Findley, Louie Belson, Raoul Romero, Si Zentner and Robert Guillaume. Performed in Alan Grant's Jazz Night at the 4-Queens in the ‘80s and guest artist at 76 Trombones +4 in ‘02. In PNW, Richard performed with Natalia Cole, Jerry Lewis, Frank Sinatra Jr., Bob Newhart, Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Ramsey/Kleeb Band, Usual Suspects Big Band, Pierce College Jazz Ensemble, Trombanga, Cambalache, Bones NW, Port Townsend All-Star Big Band and Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra. Led groups the Olympia Jazz Initiative Big Band, Native Blue Sextet, Bob Nixon Tribute Big Band, Momenti Rubati and the Jazz Express. Recorded with Abney Park and Peter Sloan. Richard was music faculty at St. Martin Univ, Pacific Lutheran Univ, South Puget Sound CC and Centralia College. Graduated with B.A. at The Evergreen State College in Trombone History under Prof. Julian Priester.
