Paulinho Magalhães

Brazilian drummer, percussionist and teacher. Moved to the USA in 1958 and died in 1978. In-house drummer at Rádio Nacional. There he met singer Lenita Bruno, who in 1962 became his wife, after she divorced from Léo Peracchi. With Lenita he shared the experience of conjunto Sete de Ouros together with Cipó, Lauro Miranda, Julinho Barbosa, Vidal (4) and Maciel. Paulinho worked with Sérgio Mendes, João Donato, Henry Mancini, José Feliciano and was a member of Bola Sete And His New Brazilian Trio. As a teacher, Paulihno in 1964 taught a course at a university in Los Angeles. His teaching manual, Rhythms And Instruments Of Brazil, was published in 1965.
