Aniurka Balanzo

Cuban singer/songwriter, born in Santiago de Cuba in 1972. 1984: Studied at the Esteban Salas Conservatory in modern dance. 1995: Arrived in France. 1998: Joined the female Cuban salsa vocal group "Corazón" led by pianist Jackeline Rodriguez, concerts at La Coupole de Montparnasse and at La Flèche d'Or in Paris. 1998-1999: Backing vocalist in the salsa group "Mambomania". 1999: Backing vocalist in the group of the Cuban singer "Yaida Jardines de la casa de la Trova" from Santiago de Cuba, tours in Europe. 2000-2004: Singer at the Pau Caribe cabaret in Paris. 2001: Singer in the Afro-Cuban group “Iya Emi”. 2002: Chorister in the group of the talented Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez, alongside the famous Cuban musicians Tata Güines, Changuito and Miguel "Angá" Díaz, multiple concerts and particularly at the “Jazz in Vienna” Festival. 2012: Creation of her project “Poder Volar” in Cuba with the participation of composer-performer Marcos Atala. 2015: She performed her works in the “200 songs dedicated to the city of Santiago de Cuba” festival at the Martí Theater. 2019: Finalization of her album “Poder Volar” to be released on the “Ilona Records” label in May 2019 and distributed by “L'Autre Distribution”.
