(Born: April 2, 1971 in Severn, Maryland – Died: March 12, 2022) was a third child to the Braxton family. Reality star, R&B singer and sister of Toni Braxton. By the mid-80s, Traci was inducted to a gospel choir along with the other sisters, while Evelyn was working as a therapist and opera singer. In 1990, The Braxtons were signed to Arista Records, resulting in a lone single "Good Life." The Braxtons (minus Toni) were all dropped from Arista. However, a showcase performance for L.A. Reid and Babyface's label LaFace resulted in Toni being signed. Traci and her sisters functioned as backup singers for Toni during her early success. Traci married retired NCAA basketball player Kevin Surratt in 1995 and gave birth to their son Kevin Surratt, Jr. Her three remaining sisters were signed to Atlantic by Bryant Reid and Craig Kallman, and released their one and only album So Many Ways that November. Traci was unable to sign the recording contract as she was pregnant at the time. In spring of 2011, WE TV debuted the reality series Braxton Family Values featuring the entire Braxton family, with focus on sisters Toni, Traci, Tamar, Towanda, Trina, and their mother Evelyn. Traci released her first solo single "Last Call" in August 2014. Her solo debut album Crash and Burn (#22 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart) was released thereafter. Traci reunited with the Braxtons again for the holiday album Braxton Family Christmas, released October 30, 2015, featuring all five sisters. From late 2013 - mid-2015, Traci ran a radio show on 106.1 KMEL in San Francisco, CA.
