Composer of the 1941-1942 hit "Keep 'Em Flying". The song "Keep 'Em Flying" was supposed to raise money to build new airplanes for the U.S. war effort in World War II. Originally recorded by Gene Krupa And His Orchestra and released on Okeh 6506 in December 1941, it was soon picked up by Glenn Miller And His Orchestra (in a Jerry Gray arrangement) and by Dick Robertson And His Orchestra. According to the sheet music of the song, the songwriter, Bill Coleman, served in the Radio Branch of the War Department's Bureau of Public Relations.
