Gottlieb Crone

Gottlieb Crone (1706, Leipzig — 1768) was a German maker of flutes and other woodwind instruments active in Leipzig. He worked together with his older brother, Gabriel Crone (1701—1763). A few instruments survived, including four traverso flutes, an alto flute, an oboe, a clarinet, and a horn dated 1750. Gottllieb's son, Johann August Crone (1727—1804), joined him as a partner in 1764 and took over the family business after his death.
