Dave Thibodeau (2)

American freelance bassist based in Hallowell, Maine, active since 1977 Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, Thibodeau was tutored by his touring-bluegrass musician father and his concert violinist grandfather. He followed suit and took an interest in the guitar at the age of 10. After moving to Maine, he studied bass at the University of Maine in Augusta (1977–1979) while playing in diverse ensembles like the Dani Tribesmen Reggae Band, Joy Spring Jazz Quartet, and The Kennebec Valley Boys. He has opened for and played with various artists, including Mose Allison, Chubby Checker, and The Levon Helm Band.
