Об исполнителе:
Pirron and Knapp were an Austrian music duo consisting of Bobby Pirron and Josef Knapp and became known with cabaret lyrics in the post-war period. Bobby Pirron (actually Robert Cuny de Pierron) was born on the 16th October 1918 in Zurich and passed away on the 19th December 2007 in Vienna. Josef Knapp (actually Josef Gnapp) was born on the 27th August 1917 in Vienna and passed away on the 12. February 1999 ibid. The duo split up in 1961. According to an ORF documentary (on the occasion of the death of Bobby Pirron in 2007), disputes over royalties were the reason for the breakup. The ingenious copywriter and creative part of the duo, Josef Knapp, had promised his partner Bobby Pirron, who was responsible for advertising and sales, to include him on all titles with a quarter of the royalties. But Knapp had neglected to announce this to the production company in the last recorded music tracks. This was the reason for Pirron to end their collaboration after 15 years. While Knapp worked as an insurance clerk, Pirron continued as a soloist. In 1984, the two met for the last time, on the occasion of the award ceremony of the Austrian "Goldene Schallplatte", where they neither spoke nor shook hands.
