Hypefactor is a pop group led by F.J. DeSanto and Brandt Gassman. Joined by Michael "Ash" Venezia, Charles Labarbara and Robin Emmet, Hypefactor writes all over the world and record, work and play in New York. The group formed in the summer of 2001 when DeSanto, formerly of cult NY machine rock band the aggression, asked his in-house engineer, Gassman, to collaborate on a new studio project. The result was the 2003 EP "The Distracted Lover," a collection of six electronic pop tunes inspired by the likes of Depeche Mode, Gustavo Cerati, Wax Trax! and Factory. The album's single, "The Sweetest Soul," featured Peter Riley, the lead singer with New York's Saintface, on vocals. After several years of writing and recording, rearing their heads for the occasional remix, Hypefactor emerged with their first full length album, EXIT STRATEGIES. The album, an epic mixture of guitars and electronics, and once again features cameos from the likes of Peter Riley of Saintface, Leo Cannetto of A.M. Pacific, and Jamie Duffy.
