Dana Pomerants

Dana Pomerants, born on October 11, 1941 is a brilliant representative of the Soviet violin school, she was a pupil of legendary David Oistrakh, with whom she studied during eight years at the Moscow Conservatory. At the Moscow Conservatory she met and married Yuri Mazurkevich another brilliant representative of Soviet violin school. Dana won prizes in the J.S. Bach International Competition and Georges Enesco Contest for violonists. In 1975 Dana, Yuri and their daughter emigrated from the Soviet Union to Canada.
