Percussionist - songwriter - producer - engineer - record company executive Born on 15.03.1944 in Harlem, New York Died 18.12.2011 in Stamford, Connecticut, USA. He released eight solo albums from 1976 to 1998. He co-wrote Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway's "Where is the Love" and Bill Withers' "Just The Two Of Us" He started his career at the age of 16 as percussionist for Harry Belafonte and was a member of Belafonte's band for 10 years. He played as a session percussionist in many artists' recordings over the ensuing decades, including George Benson, David Bowie, Aretha Franklin, Art Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Quincy Jones, Carole King, Miriam Makeba, David Sanborn, Paul Simon, Steely Dan etc. He co-founded publishing/production company Antisia Music, Inc. with longtime songwriting partner William Salter and William Eaton in 1968. He founded Rosebud Recording Studio in the mid-1970s. Father of Anthony MacDonald.
