Otto Jensen (5)

Danish amateur flutist, singer and songwriter. Otto Jensen aka "Fløjte-Otto" was born in 1917. He was trained as a watchmaker and for 22 years he had the watchmaker's shop on the corner of Studsgade and Paradisgade in Århus. In his spare time he wrote songs, played and sang and collected old songs. From the 1980's he was a part of the Århus Folkemusikhus' network at the former Hammel Banegård in Carl Blochsgade. In 1985 he recorded his first release, "Fløjte-Otto" Synger Mindre Kendte Viser, and in 1994, he published a booklet with sheet music and lyrics to 102 other lesser-known songs and recorded a cassette tape in which he sings the first verses of the songs. Both issues were sold for the benefit of Folkekirkens Nødhjælp.
