Gloria Griffin was a Gospel Singing Evangelist. She was a member of The Roberta Martin Singers, joining the group in 1957 to replace the vacancy left open by Bessie Folk. She composed and sings lead on one of the groups most popular songs, “God Specializes,” which garnered her solid notoriety and propelled her music career. Her strong delivery and spiritual impact is felt keenly on her other solo specialties as well such as, “I’m So Grateful” and “God Is Still On The Throne.” From 1955 to 1956, Griffin also performed with prominent gospel group, The Caravans (2). After leaving Roberta Martin Singers, Gloria Griffin released her first solo album in 1967 for Atlantic Records, and worked with Rev. Donald Vails in the following decades. She also was a soloist with the famous Maceo Woods And The Christian Tabernacle Concert Choir. In 1994, Griffin was featured along with other Gospel singing legends in the Gaither’s Gospel Pioneer Reunion live in Alexandria, Indiana. She died in 1995.
