Siyavash Doostkhah is a youth worker, advocate and musician based in Brisbane, Australia. He was born and raised in Iran and was forced to leave the country due to political circumstances and after spending time in Pakistan as a homeless refugee, he was accepted to resettle in Australia on humanitarian grounds. He studied traditional and mystical music of Iran which he integrates into electronic music. In the early 90s he studied field recording and electroacoustic sound manipulation with renowned French musique concrète master Rodolphe Blois at the Queensland Conservatorium. He is a founding member of world/electronic/experimental music outfit Memory Loss with Tam Patton. He and his wife Greta Kelly play music under the name 'Zemzemeh', which means 'whisper' in Persian and they have collaborated on a number of acoustic and electronic music projects including AmphiSonic, a recent sound installation for the World Science Festival, Brisbane.
