Plan 9 is a group from Wellington, New Zealand, founded in 1992. The three members have worked together in two other groups as well, both prior to Plan 9, called Six Volts and Brainchilds. Plan 9, in collaboration with David Long, composed the cultural music and the theme of "The One Ring" for Peter Jackson's "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy. The group has also created ambient music design for Peter Jackson's "King Kong".
