Haruyuki Suzuki was born on February 16, 1962 in Tokyo. At first He self studied composition, then initiated by Masaru TANAKA and studied counterpoint with Hiroaki MINAMI, participated in the seminor of Joji YUASA and Jo KONDO. He was awarded 16th Irino Prize in 1995. In the same year his first solo CD "Systematic Metal" was released and the second "KATARIMONO" in 2008 and the third "Electronic Works vol.1" in the same year. In September 2005 he was invited to Gaudeams Music Week in Amsterdam and his commissioned new piece was performed by Orkest de Volharding, and in October he organized the concerts of e-mex trio in Tokyo, invited them from Germany. In 2006 he was invited Santamaria Nuova Festival in Italy and his new piece was performed by Roberto Fabbriciani and Maurizio Barbetti. In 2010, He was invited“Experimental Intermedia” in New York and he played his electronic music by himself. So far his music has been performed and broadcast in many countries. And he often collaborates with many kind of artists, theaters, movies, etc. For example he has collaborated with a Japanese film director Nobuhiro Suwa in his three movies. They are performed in international film festivals. And in these years he collaborates with Takahiko Iimura, Japanese experimental film director. In 2011 their collaboration for ensemble, electronics and film was performed in Suntory Summer Festival. He often introduces foreign musicians to Japan and organizes concerts/lectures. In 2002 and 2003 he invited French composer Luc Ferrari to Japan and organized a music festival of him. Besides, so far he has featured such musicians as James Tenney, Tom Johnson, Trio Fibonacci, e-mex Trio, Trio Kandinsky, Ensemble Adapter, etc.
