Merle Taber

American female big band singer on radio, TV, and supper clubs. Born Chicago, Illinois. She stood just five feet tall and her nickname was the Cinderella of Song. She began singing professionally c.1947. She was a featured vocalist with name bands including Henry Busse, Ted Weems, and Pinky Tomlin. She was vocalist for a bit in 1951 with Anson Weeks.
