American Baritone singer, tenor saxophonist, clarinetist and actor. Born January 9, 1911 · Santiam, Oregon, USA. Died October 28, 1996 · Lebanon, Oregon, USA. Got his start on California radio stations and with bands of Bob Mohr and Anson Weeks. He also sang with orchestras of Charlie Spivak (1943-44), Denny Beckner (1945), Freddy Nagel (1946), Charlie Barnet (1947), Del Courtney (1948), Bob Dawes (1948), Freddie Martin and Claude Thornhill. He sang lead on the single "There Goes My Heart/Beyond the Purple Hills" by Bob Dawes Orchestra, 1948 (Embassy P-1006). He began singing with Merry Macs in 1951.
