Glenn Spencer

Country singer/songwriter as well as violinist and pianist. Born August 16, 1900 Webb City, Missouri Died December 19, 1970 (age 70) Simi Valley, Older brother of Tim Spencer. California. International Wester Music Association 2014 Hall of Fame inductee. Wrote many songs with his brother such as "That Pioneer Mother of Mine”, as well as solo such as "Blue Bonnet Girl". Most of Glenn’s songs were composed in the 1930s for the Sons of the Pioneers to sing on movie soundtracks, radio transcriptions and commercial recordings. He wrote "Gunsmoke Trail", the theme from television’s Gunsmoke.
