In 1969, Philip joined Radio Luxembourg composing station jingles. Carlin Music Corporation of America then signed him as a contract songwriter. He orchestrated and performed on the concept album 'The Road' with the Heather Brothers and Steve Hackett, their band, Quiet World. Philip later orchestrated Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett's 'Prizefighters' performed by Bonnie Tyler on Steve's Feedback 86 album. With Michael Ward providing the lyric, 'Symphony for My Love' went Platinum in Europe. Under the pseudonym, Philip le Breton, Philip produced several instrumental CDs , including Magical Encounters. All recently re - issued by Spiral Music. In 2005 Philip composed the musical score for The Far Pavilions which ran for six months in London's West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre. A CD of the score featuring The City of London Sinfonia conducted by Philip was released on Stage Door Records in 2009. A concert of Philip's classical music was held at Cadogan Hall, London in 2010 featuring his works published by Edition Peters (London). Philip's choral music is performed around the world. His major choral work '17 Poets', which he conducted in Shanghai in Feb 2015, was performed there by the International Schools Choral Music Society. Philip's work for solo cello and orchestra, 'On the Beach with Alice', was performed by cellist Jacob Shaw in The Forbidden City concert hall, Beijing in November 2013. During 2015 he recorded three new songs with the Prague Philharmonic orchestra, and Olivier award winning singer/actor Paul Baker performed Philip's song 'Brighter By Far' in the West End and on Broadway. In 2016 Philip formed 'The Green & Pleasant Band'. Their classical concept album 'From the Old World to the New World' is released on The Divine Art records Sept 2016.
