Nicolás Tavares De Olivera

Spanish composer (Murcia, ca. 1615?-Cuenca, 1648). Son of Manuel De Tavares, he trained with his father in the Cathedral of Santa Ana de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as chapel master, to later exercise this position in the cathedral of Cadiz and, as his father's successor, in the cathedral of Cuenca. In the Canary Islands he left his musical mark in the choir book B/IX of the Canarian cathedral archives.
